A minimum 6a level (on a climbing level scale of 1a to 7c) is a must to take this 5-day rock climbing course in Gorges du Verdon. The area offers more than 900 routes with very different styles. This is the place to take your rock climbing skills up a notch!
This program leaves on Mondays from mid-May to mid-June and from the beginning of September to the beginning of October. I can take a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 6 on the course. This is both due to security reasons and for clients to profit from the learning experience.
During these 5 days, you will practice climbing long routes in complete safety, doing abseil descents and setting up safe belays.
The Gorges du Verdon is one of Europe’s most strikingly beautiful river canyons. Its limestone walls are globally famous among rock climbers. The canyon is close to 25 kilometers long and 700 meters long.
On the first day of the course, we will meet at Col d’Ayen. We will then learn or practice certain moves that will come in handy when climbing long routes. On the second day, we will tackle the Monier route (5c, 100 meters) and the L’Offre route on day 3 (6a, 270 meters). I’ll let you choose what to do on the fourth and fifth days. We can either go for a multi-pitch climbing route or choose a more adventure-style route.
I am an experienced IFMGA-certified mountain guide, based in Chamonix. I have extensive experience in the area and can guarantee an unforgettable five days in the Gorges du Verdon!
