If you are looking for superb rock-climbing routes in the Chamonix Valley, this trip is a must-do. You can join me for one or more days, and I will show you some of the best spots in the region.
Chamonix is a world-class destination for rock climbing. This time, I propose to take you either to Plan de l'Aiguille or Aiguilles Rouges. I can help you pick the best route for you according to your skills and experience.
Only 1 to 2 hours of hiking from the mid-station of Aiguille du Midi cable car (Plan de l'Aiguille, 2317 m) will take you to this exciting rock climbing spot. Here you can find multi-pitch granite rock routes for different levels. There are climbing routes up to 6c (in the French grading system).
Beginners may want to try routes like Lepidopteres or Papillons Arete (Aiguille du Peigne), whereas more seasoned climbers may like routes like Le Carre or Le Rond et La Lune.
Lying on the northwest of the Chamonix Valley, the Aiguilles Rouges (Red Peaks) are a well-known rock climbing area.
This mountain range stands opposite to Mont Blanc massif. Because of that, it boasts some stunning views of its impressive peaks and the whole Chamonix Valley.
The area is easy to access: you can take the Brévent and Flégère lifts from Chamonix or Les Praz.
In Aiguilles Rouges you’ll find a wide variety of multi-pitch climbing routes. Some lower-grade climbs are ideal for beginners with some previous experience. In fact, they’re a great introduction to alpine climbing. However, there are also harder routes up to 6c (in the French grading system).
Would you like to try rock climbing in these amazing peaks of the Alps? Send a request so we can start planning this adventure together!

What are your recommendations for accommodations in Chamonix?
For accommodation in Chamonix, consider options in Les Houches, Chamonix, and Argentiere. Use online booking platforms (Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.) to find the best match for your budget and preferences.
Are you offering group tours?
I exclusively guide private clients to ensure a superior and safer experience for everyone.
Will climbing equipment be provided, or should I bring my own? Is rental available?
I will provide the coming climbing equipment such as the rope. You should bring your personal equipment such as your climbing shoes, harness, helmet, etc. If you need to rent any of these, I recommend you to go to Concept Pro Shop in Chamonix. They are located just behind the cable car to Aiguille du Midi.
Where are we going to climb?
I'll select the climbing spot(s) based on your climbing experience, your wishes and the weather conditions. We might go to Plan de l'Aiguille (and climb one of these routes Lepidopteres, Papillons Arete, Le Carre, Le Rond, La Lune, etc.) and/or in the natural reserve of Les Aiguilles Rouges.
What is included in the price? What's not?
My guiding service is included in the price.
On top of that, you'll need to cover for your lift ticket and the rental of your climbing equipment in case you don't have your own.

Mountain Guide
I am an IFMGA mountain guide living in Cyprus. I have a passion for exploring the mountains since I was child. Kyperounda, the town where I was born and raised, was my first playground, the place where I started practising different outdoor activities.
First I learnt skiing. Then, I started training and taking part in races and competitions, traveling extensively in Europe. As I am very curious, I kept trying all kinds of sports until I discovered climbing and all its exciting possibilities.
I also developed both my academic and my practical skills in the university, where I studied Outdoor Studies and Sport Science. During that time, I obtained qualifications as a Mountain Leader and a Climber.
Teaching other people is one of the things I like the most. I find a deep joy in helping others to enjoy the mountains as much as I do.
The experience of all these years as well as my technical skills, have taken me closer to my goal: becoming an IFMGA mountain guide.

Kyriakos was an amazing mountain guide. Very professional and thorough, very knowledgeable and calm, and treated us with patience since it was our first mountaineering adventure and we faced different challenges. He went out of his way to offer us alternatives to the various difficulties that came to our path, and he made sure that we reached our goal with safety. Thank you Kyriakos, we had an amazing time! Till next time
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
