Would you like to join a unique rock climbing program in Pic du Midi d’Ossau? Then join me on this thrilling adventure starting from the Refuge de Pombie in the Pyrenees National Park.
Due to its unique shape, the Pic du Midi d’Ossau is an emblematic mountain in the French Pyrenees that rises 2,884 m above the Ossau Valley. There are many routes to go up this stunning peak. The normal route, which is one of our options, starts from the refuge de Pombie, at an altitude of 2,031 m.
On this program, we will meet at the Pourtalet parking lot and head first to the refuge. Once there, we will prepare the equipment and then set off on our rock climbing adventure. One option will be to take the normal route. Another option will be to take the Espolon de los Muchachos route on the east side. We will find chimneys, cracks, slabs and pitons to help us up. Once at the summit, we will enjoy amazing views of the Pyrenees. The descent will be a little more technical and will require some rappelling.
For this adventure, it is important that you are physically fit. Additionally, you will require some prior rock climbing experience. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you every step of the way.
