Climb the Vignemale's north face, the highest point in the French Pyrenees. Your guide will be IFMGA-certified Fede. An unforgettable 3-day climbing experience!
As you may know, Vignemale is the highest point in the French Pyrenees and probably, the most impressive alpine wall in the region.
Ascending through the Gaube Valley we’ll find the great 900-meter rock wall, the Vignemale’s north face. The direct route leads to the Petit Vignemale Glacier (Oulettes). From there we’ll have to take the Gaube Corridor. In the final section, when arriving at the glacier, the corridor closes in a vertical and stunning ice wall.
Undoubtedly, it’s a must do for a Pyrenean climber. The maximum difficulty grade of this itinerary is V (intermediate-sustained). That means there will be large technical sections of scrambling. However, its multi-pitch route makes it one of the best climbs in the whole Pyrenees!
If you’re a confident climber with some prior alpine experience, join me on this 3-day trip! At the bottom of this page you’ll find more details of the day by day itinerary.
I also lead another climbing program in the Pyrenees. Please take a look at my one-day program in Pic du Midi d’Ossau.
Contact me for further details before starting with the reservation process. I will be waiting for you message! Let’s climb together the highest wall in the French Pyrenees.
Meeting at Cauterets (France) and approach to the Oulettes hut. We will do some technical review practices during the evening.
Climbing day. We will head to the wall very early in order to approach through the glacier and start to enjoy the first pitches. Descent by the normal route and return to the hut to enjoy the views of the wall we just climbed!
Return to Cauterets, France. End of the program.

Fantastic climb! We were the only people climbing the normal route so we had the mountain to ourselves. Fede was great, highly professional, and he assessed the risks very well. Highly recommended!
1st class guide. Excellent scramble.
