Join me on this truly unique and awesome adventure, where we will backcountry ski with a snowcat through the raw natural beauty and rugged wilds of the frontier of the Ruby Mountains, Nevada, a region that is sparse in people and who’s snowcapped mountain peaks tower over absolutely massive valleys and plains that stretch out as far as the eye can see.
Located in the vast and empty Great Basin of Nevada, the Ruby Mountains are a remote part of the state which provide endlessly fascinating areas to explore while skiing. The snow is fresh and deep every day, and the peace, quiet and tranquility of the whole region provides an epic backdrop to the breath-taking views you will encounter.
Over the course of the 2 days you will be skiing, you will be assisted by a snowcat the whole way, enabling us to get to those hard to reach spots, which often have the best powder and views!
There is also opportunity to see many different species of animals that inhabit the area, such as mountain goats, lions and mule deer.
By the end of the trip hopefully you will have discovered your new favorite place to ski and a new enthusiasm for this great activity.

Day 1: Meet and ski
Meet at our starting point, head to yurt accommodation, ski for as long as time permits.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
