Ski mountaineering day for experts in the Tetons, near Jackson Hole

We’ll get an early start, meeting at the trailhead at 5 am, before strapping on our headlamps and making our into the wilderness through the brisk morning air.

Two of the most popular ski mountaineering objectives in the park are Buck Mountain and the Apocalypse Couloir. We will likely attempt to summit one of these iconic spots.

Both of these summits make for long and strenuous days, requiring rope and technical climbing equipment to reach. But the reward for reaching the top is stunning panoramic views of the spectacular national park in all of its glory.
