Cordillera Blanca
4 Days
May - Sep
Intermediate
Today I would like to propose a different experience in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. There will be 4 magic days in which we will attack two important summits of Peru: the Urus and Ishinca peaks!
This mountaineering program is suitable for those climbers who are in search of conquering two mountains on the same trip.
The Nevado Urus, at 5420 meters of altitude and the Ishinca peak at 5530 meters are two of the most important summits of the region. Moreover, together with the Nevado Tocllaraju, they imply a must-climb for mountaineers all around the world. That is why I am also leading this 7-day ascent to these 3 mountains. It is a really unforgettable adventure for well trained people.
The best period to come to the Cordillera Blanca is from May till September. I can guide a group of 3 guests as maximum. Please find more details about the day-by-day at the end of this page.
I will be waiting for your contact so we can discuss and plan your next adventure up to the Urus and Ishinca summits! I have no doubt it will be one of the best experiences of your life. Get in touch with me!
Meeting point
We will leave from the city of Huaraz by bus in direction to the North until arriving at the town of Taricá from where we will take the detour to the East. Once we get to Cochapampa we will meet the team of porters and continue along the road to take the trail that will take us to the Ishinca base camp. Walking time: 4 to 5 hours.
We will get up at 4 AM for breakfast. Then we will leave through a well marked trail towards the moraine camp and then, ascend the glacier until we are finally at the summit of the Nevado Urus. From here we will enjoy an impressive view of the mountains of Huascarán, Copa, Aquilpo, Tocllaraju, Palcaraju, Pucaraju, Ishinca, Ranrapalca, Ocshapalca and Vallunaraju. Return down by the same path. Total walking time: 6 to 8 hours.
Today we will get up at 3 AM. After breakfast we will start walking by the opposite side of the previous day, crossing the pampa and dodging some streams of the Toclla lagoon until arriving at the trail that will take us to the foot of the glacier. Then we will walk on the glacier until we reach the summit. We will enjoy the panoramic view for a few minutes and then, return to the base camp. Hiking time of the day: 8 to 10 hours.
Return by the same way until arriving at Cochapampa where the bus will be waiting for the return to the city of Huaraz.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
