2 Days
May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep
Fit
Intermediate
One of the more moderate ascents in the Cordillera Blanca, this trip to the summit of Vallunaraju will be unforgettable. The views you will get will stay with you long after you’ve returned home.
The journey to this great mountain’s summit will begin in the town of Huaraz. From there, at approximately 8:00 am, we will make our way to the Vallunaraju base camp (4,650m). After that, we will climb to the Morrena camp (4,950m), where we will spend the night. At the camp, depending on how you feel, we will practice some climbing for the summit ascent on the following day.
Very early, between 2:00 and 3:00 am, we will venture from the Morrena camp to the summit. The time needed to ascend to the summit and descend back to base camp will be approximately 7 to 8 hours. After we reach base camp, we will then take a transport back to Huaraz.
Due to the moderate nature of the trip, the ascent of Vallunaraju is a more accessible climb than several others in the Cordillera Blanca. As a result, as long as you can climb at a moderate level, are at least 18 years old, and are in good physical condition, you can participate on this adventure.
While only 2 days, this amazing ascent of Vallunaraju is definitely a worthwhile experience. If you would like to be a part of it, just send me a request.
Do you want a longer, more difficult climb in the Cordillera Blanca? Then join me on this 5 day ascent of Copachico.
