Located in one of the most beautiful valleys in the High Tatras of Slovakia, the Zbojnicka mountain hut (1,960m) is a great place to trek. The views you receive during the trek to, and from the hut are some of the best in the entire Tatras mountain range.
Beginning in either Stary Smokovec (1,000m) or Hrebienok (1,285m), we will make our way to the Reiner mountain hut (1,300m). This hut is the oldest one in the High Tatras, and provides some great views. From there, we will trek to the Velka Studena Dolina, which is a nearly 8 kilometre long valley. The valley is gorgeous and filled with no less than 23 mountain lakes, which you will be able to admire. During this portion of the trek there will be two relatively easy technical sections that involve chains. Finally, we will reach the Zbojnicka hut. Once there, you will get to relax, soak in the views and even enjoy some traditional cabbage soup, filled with steamed dumplings. Afterwards, we will make our way back down.
This trip is fairly easy. Thus making it accessible to most people. However it is important that you are good physical condition, as we will be hiking for approximately 5 to 7 hours.
This trek to the Zbojnicka hut is a great opportunity for anybody who wants to explore the High Tatras. And because it is open all year round, you can decide which season you wish to take this trip. So you can enjoy it under the sun of summer, in the snows of winter or amidst the colours of autumn. To experience it for yourself, just send me a request.
I also offer a 1 day trek to the Furkotsky peak in the Tatras as well.

I'm a UIMLA mountain leader and national tourist guide (for cultural and historical heritage trips).
I was born in Poprad in 1969. From my early childhood, I often looked out my bedroom window into the distance of the picturesque High Tatras, which fascinated me even then. In high school I started going with my friends to a small climbing "expedition" on the surrounding rocks, and later to the High Tatras. Mostly I went with a friend whose father was a member of the Mountain Rescue Service. During my studies at Comenius University in Bratislava, I loved coming back to the mountains.
In 1999 I started actively volunteering paramedic of the Tatra Mountain Rescue Service, and then I was hired there.
Precisely because of my relationship with the mountains I began working as a tourist guide with a focus on mountain areas.
Since 1998 I accompany tourists from around the world to the mountains and surrounding towns.
In 2011 I got certified as mountain leader.
Besides, I have been working as a member of the Council of the Slovak Association of mountain Leaders since it was established in 2011.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
