Explore-share.com helps you book your next Mountain Climbing trip in Mount Tronador.

Cerro Tronador is a geologically active volcano located in the southern part of the Andes Mountains, on the border between Argentina and Chile near the city of Bariloche. It has three peaks: to the east, the Pico Argentino (3200 m), to the west the Pico Chileno (3320 m) and a border summit, called International Peak (3554 m). Mount Tronador is one of the most classic mountain climbing programs in the Nahuel Huapi National Park since it gives you the possibility to venture into the world of mountaineering with the advantage of a simple and comfortable access. Tronador is an excellent mountain school where you can learn and practice many advanced mountaineering techniques. 1-day Tronador summit from Refugio Meiling

We had really difficult conditions (ice-cold and strong winds), but made it up the top of Pico Argentino. Thanks to Lucas, who is a fantastic guide and a very nice person. Highly recommended tour, which for sure was the highlight of our trip to Patagonia.

Mount Tronador 3-day guided climbing tour

Craig is a great guide and even better person. I would recommend him 100 times over for any backcountry adventure in Patagonia.

Climbing Tronador: from the hut to the summit in 1 day

I had a great time in Bariloche and went with Andescross to climb in Frey and also ascend Cerro Tronador along with a friend I was travelling with. Jorge is awesome and made the whole experience enjoyable. His love of this beautiful area comes across and he was very accommodating with us, working around the weather (it snowed one night at Frey) and maximizing the amount and quality of climbing we did. He also took us to Cerro Lopez to get one last climb in since we had minimal good weather up at Frey. Jorge is a great guide and I was very comfortable climbing with him. After a couple day's rest we ascended Cerro Tronador with Nahuel. It is a great glacier climb with a spicy finish. A pretty demanding ascent and descent, but well worth the view from Pico Argentina. I would definitely go climbing with Jorge and Andescross again and hope to soon!

Mount Tronador 3-day guided climbing tour

Our group had the pleasure of trekking with Craig over a 4 day hike to Mt. Tronador. First of all, Craig is an absolute professional whose focus is on safety first and then on adventure. His Scottish accent and quick wit were a perfect fit for our group of 5 Dads and 5 teen sons. I would highly recommend Craig for any adventure in Patagonia!

Climbing Mount Tronador, Bariloche

Have recently hiked up Mt Tronador with Lucas as a guide. The rest of the team and I were very happy to have him guide us. He is very professional and experienced, yet also very attentive and friendly. Would definitely consider hiring him again for our next adventure!
