Dolomites Skiing Trip

**Climb Ortler, the highest peak in South Tyrol, via the Hintergrat ridge in summer.** This challenging route offers stunning views of the surrounding Alps, but it is important to be well-prepared and experienced before attempting it.

Ortler is the highest mountain in the Ortler Alps, and the highest peak in the province of South Tyrol. This titanic glaciated mountain has an outstanding peak of 3,905 meters (12,812 feet) and is known for its challenging mountaineering routes, and its stunning views of the surrounding Alps.

On day one, we will meet in Solda and check our backpacks and equipment. Then, we will hike to the Coston/Hintergrat Hut for a half-board overnight stay.

On day two, we will wake up early and ascend the Hintergrat ridge. The first section is over broken rocks and steep snow, followed by a rocky ridge with mixed and rock passages around grade III (with two grade IV passages). The scenery is spectacular. (about 5-6 hours) Once we reach the summit, we will descend by the normal route on the glacier and equipped rock passages to the Payer Hut. Finally, we will hike back to the starting point.

On this day, we will climb to the hut and climb one of the 3 main towers (such as the aerial Piaz Arête on the Delago Tower).
After enjoying one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Dolomites, we will stay overnight at the Re Alberto Refuge.

From the hut we have ample opportunity to choose an ideal climbing route for you: we can climb the other two Vajolet towers (Stabeler and Winkler towers), climb a route to Punta Emma (such as the Fedele) or climb the Catinaccio normal route (a grade III route but with an aerial ridge to the actual summit).
Lunch at the Rifugio after the climb and hike back down to the starting point around 4 pm.

*   T**he Santner Via Ferrata** is situated in a **stunning location**, winding through small gorges and narrow gullies. The most challenging part of the route is the "ice gorge", a narrow gully where icy snows can be found even with warmer weather. At the end of the via ferrata at Rifugio Passo Santner, the trail leads to the Rifugio Re Alberto, nestled under the iconic Vajolet towers.
    
*   **Via Ferrata Masarè** is an extremely varied and incredibly beautiful route that follows the Masarè ridge, leading to the summit of **several rocky pinnacles.** The route offers a breathtaking balcony view of the Dolomites.
    
*   **The Catinaccio d'Antermoia Via Ferrata** guarantees a **thrilling and adventurous** experience with its exposure and challenging terrain.
    

Reach the summit and be rewarded with the unobstructed views of the panoramic spectacle of the surrounding Alps. The Santner Via Ferrata rises in a magnificent location, traversing small gorges and narrow gullies. **Via Ferrata Catinaccio d'Antermoia**  
  
The via ferrata at Catinaccio d'Antermoia promises exposure and pure adventure!

Upon reaching the summit, the unobstructed view takes in the Alp all around: The peak of Catinaccio and the Vajolet Towers, Sasso Lungo, the Sella group and Marmolada, as well as Antelao and Civetta in the background, are all in close proximity. An absolute highlight: the turquoise-blue view of Lake Antermoia!

**Climbing in the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Mountains, the emblem of the Dolomites, is a must for every climbing enthusiastic.** In this trip you will climb Cima Piccola, one of its imposing peaks, with an expert guide.

**The Tre Cime di Lavaredo (“three peaks of Lavaredo” in italian) are three distinctive massive rocky prominences part of the Sexten Dolomites**, the most north-eastern  of the Dolomite Mountains. Located at northeastern Italy, this battlement-like peaks  are one of the most popular peaks in Europe.

**Cima Piccola (italian for “little peak”, 2,857 m.) is one of the rocky mounts of Lavaredo.** In this outing we will reach its top in a fabulous 300 m.  climb, surrounded by a wonderful alpine landscape. It would take us from 3 to 4 hours.

**The other peaks of Lavaredo are Cima Grande (“big peak”, 2,999 m.) and Cima Ovest (“western peak”, 2,973 m.).** They also offer several climbing routes, both easy and challenging, all with with excellent panoramic views.

Multipitch climbing in the Dolomites: A Day or More of Adventure

##### **An exciting rock climbing trip in Tre Cime di Lavaredo, one of the most iconic spots in the Dolomites.**

**Tre Cime Di Lavaredo** are three impressive rock towers at the heart of the Dolomites: **Cima Ovest (western peak), Cima Grande (big peak)** and **Cima Piccola (little peak).**

In fact, the **north face** sight of these three peaks has become a famous landmark of the Dolomite mountains.

On this rock climbing trip, I propose a route on the highest peak: **Cima Grande.** It’s a 500 m height **IV+/IV grade route**. It has a quite hard descend that usually demands some rappelling.

Our starting point will be **Lavaredo Hut.** Then, we’ll follow the trace of pioneer climbers like Angelo Dibona, who climbed this route in 1909. Because of him, the route is also known as **the Dibona Arete.**
