Do you love ice climbing? Are you looking for that new, exciting ice climbing location? Then come to **Rjukan in Norway**. Home to over **150 incredible ice falls, Rjukan**, which is long considered one of the best ice climbing locations in **northern Europe**, will almost certainly provide you with all of the amazing ice climbing you can handle.

This trip can **last for one, or several days depending on your wishes**. Though, I won’t be surprised if you decide to stretch this trip multiple days. The ice climbing in **Rjukan** is simply amazing. Not only that, the area itself is stunning. Located **over 175 kilometers from Oslo and 375 kilometers from Bergen**, you will be climbing in the wilderness. Thus providing you with a fantastic **Norwegian** experience.

This trip, while great for experienced ice climbers, is also great for beginners. So, even if this is your first ice climbing trip, I know you’ll have a great time in **Rjukan**.

We will be climbing **between 5-10 hours per day**. As a result, it is important that participants on this trip are in **good physical condition**.

When it comes to ice climbing in **Norway**, there are few, if any places as well known, and as amazing as **Rjukan**. And on this **4-day trip**, you will have plenty of time to enjoy a number of wonderful ice falls in the popular climbing area. Furthermore, this **4-day trip** also acts as a **beginner level ice climbing course**. So, along with having a great time, you will learn a great deal about the fundamentals of ice climbing as well.

Within **Rjukan**, there are over **150 frigid ice falls** you can enjoy and learn from. And on this trip, you will get to climb on a number of them. When it comes to which ones we choose, the decision will be based on your skill level, weather conditions and personal preferences.

The first day of the course will revolve around your arrival, introductions and transport to **Rjukan**. The following three days will revolve around a number of different, important and fun lessons on the ice falls. Some examples of what you will learn about include **top roping, ice screws, abalakov (v-tread)** and much more. And, you can be sure that whatever you learn, you will get to immediately practice on the beautiful ice falls.

In order to participate on this trip, you should be in **good physical condition**. You should also have **prior climbing experience and know how to belay, both on top rope and lead**.

This 3-day ice climbing course for beginners is an exciting option for those looking for a fun winter activity in nature.

The climbing course takes place in Rjukan, Norway, a place famous for its stunning icefalls. Throughout the three days, we will explore different aspects of ice climbing, and cover equipment, techniques, and safety. You can find a detailed day-by-day description of the course below. We will also have the chance to put all of our new skills to practice in the stunning Rjukan icefalls! In the evenings, we will spend the night in a comfortable, private house near the climbing area.

This ice climbing course is designed for beginners. Therefore, you don't need any prior experience to join. However, you do need an adventurous mindset and a good fitness level. The icefalls we will tackle during our practice sessions will be chosen based on the group's level and capacity.

Introduction

\-First ice climbing day. We'll leave together at 08:30 after breakfast, for a full day of ice climbing at one of the suitable climbing areas nearby. They are all just a short drive away.  
\-The focus is first to learn how to belay on the top rope.  
\-Then we get into the techniques of climbing on ice, and how to use the ice axes and crampons efficiently.  
\-The guide will choose a variety of different climbs that will suit everyone.

Ice climbing practice

Again, we'll leave together at 08:30 after breakfast. We will go to another of the suitable climbing areas nearby, where we will continue to develop the skills learned on day 2 and have fun on the various ice falls.
