The main airport is Oslo (code OSL).
There is also a smaller one, Sandefjord Torp (code TRF).
How do I get to Rjukan from the airport?
• From Oslo Airport OSL to Rjukan by car it is a 3-3 1/2 hour drive.
From Sandefjord Torp, it is a tiny bit shorter.
• If you drive from Oslo or Sandefjord, make sure you put in a via point on your GPS.
You should drive via Notodden. Google Maps will indicate a slightly different route, with the same distance and travel time, but on small, snow-covered, winding roads, that will take much longer.

From Sandefjord Torp, public transport is more complicated.
I recommend renting a car at the airport.

I started working as a full time climbing instructor in 2011, and since then I haven't looked back. I love being in the wild nature, and I believe I have the best job in the world!
During the winter months, I live in Rjukan, the most fabulous place for ice climbing. You have to see it to believe how great this place is! Book me for a course or guided climbing in this ice paradise.
I also travel a lot for climbing and guiding. Places that I return to over and over again are Kalymnos and Mallorca.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with me, and I promise a rewarding and inspirational experience!

My partner and I went on a 5-day ice climbing trip with Jørn and we loved every single day of it. We started off with different levels of experience but Jørn organised our days in a way that we were both pushed to expand our comfort zones but without taking it too far for either of us. Jorn is someone who isn’t just good at ice climbing itself but also knows how to teach. We learnt many valuable lessons and progressed a lot in those 5 days. We also greatly enjoyed Jørn's company and his passion for the outdoors. We are definitely coming back for more!
