Description

Lake Bled set beneath the Julian Alps is prized by Slovenians for its stunning natural beauty.

The area including the town of Bled is a top Slovenian tourist destination. During the winter with ample snow there are many ski touring and snowshoeing options.

Truly a picturesque setting, the lake has a small island in the middle, a castle on a hill that overlooks the lake and then the Julian Alps in the backround.

There are plenty of trails weaving amongst the forests and mountains for the avid hiker and there is more than enough for multiple days if that is your preference.

On this 1+day of hiking you can explore the lakeside and take a dip, it reaches 25 degrees during the summer. In the winter it freezes over and we enjoy some ice skating!

You can visit the impressive medieval castle on the hill that overlooks the lake and has a drawbridge and moat surrounding it.

You can take a traditional flat-bottomed wooden boat and arrive at the lake’s island to ring the bell for good luck.

There are endless breathtaking vistas to enjoy that even the best painter could not recreate.

Half-board accommodation in the mountain hut or hotel for guide and clients are not included in the price.
