Imja Tse or Island Peak is a mountain that belongs to the Himalayan mountain range in Nepal. At 6,189 meters above sea level, it is a very popular destination among mountaineers and a great preparation peak for Mount Everest.
The Everest region is one of the most popular climbing areas and, apart from the highest mountain in the world, you can also take smaller climbing expeditions to the Himalayan peaks.
Located above Chhukung glacier, between Ama Dablam and the Lhotse mountains, the Island Peak was first climbed in 1956 by a Swiss team that was training for Mount Everest. Since then, hundreds of climbers have successfully climbed this fantastic mountain.
This trip takes place in the Khumbu region of Nepal. We will explore the heart of this area and visit the Everest Base Camp. During the whole adventure, you will get to see astonishing views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks.
Apart from climbing, you will enjoy sightseeing in the city of Kathmandu. Some of the points that you will have the chance to visit will be Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. These are very important and interesting places regarding the history and culture of Nepal. You can take a look at a more detailed description of the itinerary below.
Although this ascent is not technically demanding, take into account that it is a requirement to have a very good level of fitness to join this program. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you through and through.
So does this trip to Island Peak sound tempting? Then send your request and book this trip now. It will be a pleasure to safely guide you on this adventure.
I also offer expeditions to Mount Himlung, Mount Putha Himchuli, and Shishapangma, all of them in Nepal. Take a look at them!

I am an IFMGA/UIAGM certified mountain guide and an instructor guide. I started my career in the mountaineering and adventure sector in 1998 and since then I have been on the continuous journey of learning, training, exploring, and enjoying about the mountains.
I have guided several successful climbing expeditions in the Himalyas including Everest- 4 times, Makalu, Dawalagiri, Manaslu.... and other 7000 and 6000 m peaks. I am among the first batch of IFMGA/UIAGM guide from Nepal.
I'm an expert in high Altitude expeditions (Everest, Cho Oyu, Manaslu...). If one of these mountains is on your dreams' list...please get in touch with me and let's discuss about it together. I strongly believe that being guided by someone who comes from there provides a great added value to the journey.
