Description

Climb Mount Olympus, Greece’s highest peak and the legendary home of the twelve Olympian gods!

This guided trip takes you past the Muses Plateau to the dramatic summits of Mytikas and Stefani, with sweeping panoramic views of Greece and the Aegean Sea from high on the mountain.

If you are an experienced alpinists, this trip is designed for you! The route includes technical snow and ice sections and offers a true winter-mountaineering challenge.

Meeting point

The meeting point may vary: either in Athens, from where we will drive together to the mountain, or directly in the town of Litóchoro, at the foot of the mountain.

Itinerary

Day 1: Ascent to the High Refuge

Begin with a morning start for the ascent to the highest mountain refuge, reaching the bivouac section after approximately 7–8 hours of hiking.

Day 2: Summit Push

Start early for the summit attempt. This day requires technical climbing equipment (ropes, harness, crampons, ice axes), with expected snow and/or ice slopes of 40–50 degrees over about 150 meters.

Day 3: Final Descent

Descend back to the starting point of the mountain, with an estimated duration of 6–7 hours.

Accommodation will be in a shared indoor area of a mountain hut.
