Description

The frosted peaks of Chugach Mountains, in Valdez, Alaska, are full of possibilities for snowboarders. That is why I suggest you this one-week tour to explore the backcountry!

The plan is simple, but exciting: to travel each day to the Thompson pass to snowboard until the sun goes down. For those who love variety, each day will be thrilling, since the terrain will never be the same. You will be able to do long runs, (some of them, of 1,200 m from the highest summits), long backcountry linkups, explore other areas, and even ask for a heli snowboard trip.

In the evening, we will head back to our accommodation, a comfortable Bed and Breakfast where we will be able to chill and rest.

Even if we will travel a lot on glaciers, the terrain is not too technical. However, it is essential to be fit, have prior backcountry snowboarding experience and to be familiar with avalanche rescue procedures to sign up (although we will review these at the beginning of the program).

Are you excited already? Send me your request to enjoy the best week of snowboarding on the remote slopes of the Chugach Mountains.

And, if one week is not enough, take another one to enjoy off-piste snowboarding in the magnificent outskirts of Haines, Alaska.

I really loved it. Intro to rock climbing was an amazing experience. Explore-share team were so helpful in the process. The trip that I chose in the first place was not available and they managed to find alternatives and offer me the best possible solution in that situation. In the end I had a wonderful day and could not be happier!

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

It would have been helpful to know it was suppose to be a Matterhorn prep course. The goals of the group were a little different.

I was very glad to have the Back country ski tour in Montata by following reasons. 1. I had quick replies from my coordinator and guide whenever I asked something; 2. My guide was cool. 3. The tour was well-planned and appropriate duration. 4. Snow was in a good condition. Thank you!!
