Description

The most demanding, complete, and spectacular walking tour in America is located in the northwest of Argentina. It unites the provinces of Catamarca and Tucumán through the Nevados del Aconquija and reaches an altitude similar to the Mont Blanc summit at 4,830 meters above sea level. On this 1-week expedition to the Ciudacita Inca Ruins, we will explore this path and discover unique mountain landscapes on the way.

We will start from Estancia El  Tesoro at 2400 masl.  From there, every day, we will go further into the wild until we reach Ciudacita (also known as Pueblo Viejo), an ancient Inca archaeological site located at 4300 meters above sea level within the  Aconquija National Park  (Province of Tucumán). The temperature on winter nights is -20º C while on summer days the temperature can reach 30º C. Towards the plain, you can see the provinces of Tucumán, Santiago del Estero and Catamarca, behind the Morro de las Cuevas (4,900 masl).

In order to join this exciting adventure, you will need an excellent fitness level and medical approval. It's a demanding trek that will be well worth the effort.

To join this tour, send in your request and we will happily begin to plan together!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
