Description

Climbing the Aconcagua is every mountaineer’s dream. At 6,962 m it is the highest mountain outside Asia, and an Andes favourite. But you don’t have to be a pro to enjoy the experience of exploring this stunning peak. On this Plaza Francia 3-day trek, I will take you to a 4200m altitude where you can revel in its immensity.

Before we set off on our excursion, we will first need to get you your permits. In order to do so, you need to be in Mendoza one day before the kick off. Then, the following day we will meet in Penitentes and begin our ascent. On the way, we will enjoy the stunning landscapes and spend a night in Confluencia. Finally, we will ascend to the Plaza Francia base camp before returning.

Every day we will trek between 4 to 6 hours. Consequently, you will need a good fitness level for this trip. However, it is not terribly challenging technically and we will also have mules to help carry our belongings, so you don’t need too much mountaineering experience. Of course, I will be there every step of the way to help and guide you.

Are you ready to experience a unique journey in the Andes? Then book your place now and join me on this 3-day trek to Plaza Francia in Mount Aconcagua!

Would you like a slightly longer trek in the region? Then I also offer a 5 day Plaza Francia and Plaza de Mulas trek.

The expedition was great. Andy was a great guide who was very attentive to all the climbers and was constantly checking how we were feeling both physically and emotionally. He was always focused on one objective, to get us all to the summit and back down safely. In this regard he would always go the extra mile! Andy is the best guide i have climbed with by far and all guides should be as professional and attentive as him. The food was fine for a non meat eater but there is only so much cheese someone can eat no matter how well it is served:grinning: The huts and tents were all good. The mountain was hard, the summit was harder! I was totally exhausted but felt great after the summit. The Hotel was good with a nice pool and Mendoza was a really nice place to be with very nice people. All in all a great trip with a great group of climbers and two of the best guides. Would I recommend this trip? simple answer is..... Hell yeahh!!

Just one thing; Ivan don't understand my need in base camp when I ask for a single tent at this place. I think with a single tent that was more easy for me to sleep. But In generally Ivan and Juan Pedro are good boys. It's diificult for me to rate Guide and Trip. I didn't finished. I can rate only for the half trip.
