Climbing Grand Muveran via the Saille edge. A guaranteed atmosphere for this 1908 route that has been completely updated by “Péponne” in 2000.
One of the most beautiful races of the right bank of the Rhone!
Grand Muveran, at an altitude of 3051m, is at the border of the Vaud and Valais cantons, between Pont de Nant and Ovronnaz. I propose to climb the Southwest edge leaving from Ovronnaz.
This race is rated “D+” (Difficile+: Hard+). It features some “aerial” climbing sections in compulsory 5a (some steps on 5c).
We leave from Saille (1510m) early in the morning to reach the Frête de Saille pass (2584m). Then the climb starts with around 10 short pitches. And the edge flattens before reaching the summit.
The Grand Muveran race lasts 6-8 hours. The positive altitude change is 1500m.
If this ascent sounds interesting, please contact me! I would love taking you up there. And if I am not available on the date you choose, another UIAGM guide from the team will join you.

Attracted by the mountains since childhood, I started with climbing and alpinism. I then discovered my passion for ski touring.
I started a Young&Sport instructor training to lead young people in the mountain, accompanied by guides. This experience inspired me to become a mountain guide, and I got certified in September 2015.
I work in a guide's office with other guides friends as Stéphane, Raphael, Christian and Jean-Luc, mountain leader.
What I love the most: make people enjoy, allow them to discover a region, laughing, everything in a safe way.
So if there's something you wish, if you dream of exploring a region or country, don't hesitate to contact me.
See you soon for new discoveries!
