Description

Ponale Road, in Italy, is a beautiful and easy path full of history and nature. Bring your whole family to spend a different day outdoors and enjoy a wonderful experience.

Ponale Road is one of the most iconic paths in Europe. Closed to cars and motorcycles, it offers one of the best views of the Alto Garda for cyclists and hikers. The road is bound by high vertical walls with an incredible view of the vegetation of the area and of Lake Garda. It bridges Riva del Garda and the Valle di Ledro.

Along the way, we’ll find traces of history. For example, the ancient Riva del Garda aqueduct and Tagliata del Ponale, a fortification of World War I with stairs and tunnels.

At the end of the road, we’ll take a relaxing stop at a small bar that features breathtaking views of the lake. We’ll cross the Ponale stream to reach the Pregasina lookout spot, and return following the same road.

Mountain Guide

Certified mountain and ski guide and is directing since 15 years the Mountain School Mmove (former Friends of Arco). In the past, his passion had driven him for weeks to the solitude of the Alps, of Patagonia, or of the icy heights of the Karakorum to climb famous walls and peaks and open up new routes.

Today his priorities have moved. He wants to share his enthusiasm for the mountains - while working with his guests and in his spare time with his sons, as his father has once done with him. Mauro Girardi is very proud on its enthusiastic and highly qualified team of local Mountain-and Ski Guides, Hiking Guides and office employees. Mmove is not just a mountain school, but is a steadily growing circle of friends, who would like to realize great experiences. We like to Mmove it !!

Mmove is the only mountain school in the Alto Garda region with a guaranteed weekly program and activities for all tastes and the whole family.

The team is formed by 8 IFMGA/UIAGM Guides, so if Mauro is not available, one of the other highly qualified members of the team will be the guide.

This was a good trip. I joined with my 7y/o daughter who has no climbing experience. She had a good time. Although I am not sure how to change this, from my personal perspective, the trip would have been even better if there would also be a bigger challenge for adults.
