Description

During one full day or more, you will be able to enjoy splitboarding on the great powder snow in Hokkaido.

This trip, specially designed for splitboarding lovers is a great opportunity to visit one of the most famous winter destinations in Japan. The tour is comfortably adjustable: it can be arranged from 1 to 7 days depending on your agenda.

During this tour, you will be able to enjoy amazing descents after heating up your muscles through a full hike up the mountains for 2 to 5 hours. The landscape is breathtaking and you will never forget the feeling of immensity and silence you’ll get around these mountains.

Some of the backcountry areas you will splitboard on are Mount Yotei, Mount Yoichi, Mount Tokachi, between other volcanic mountains.

If you are planning to stay more than one day, I recommend you stay in Japanese style inn, relax in the Onsen hot springs and try Japanese traditional exquisite cuisine.

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to try Hokkaido’s powder snow. Request to book this trip and join me during one or up to seven days. I’ll be glad to guide you through the best splitboarding routes!

Itinerary

Day 1: 1 Day Tour

We can decide our meeting point / time in advance accordingly to your needs. We will travel to the trailhead / ski resort to start our tour. After our tour, we can enjoy local Onsens (hot spring) to relax our tired muscles! I can drop you off at a place of your choice (within reason) at the end of the day.

Day 2 to 7: More than 1 day tour

If you would like to spend more days, we can arrange a longer tour. Similarly to the 1 Day tour, we will discuss our meeting point / time in advance. I can pick you up at the airport if you want, or at your hotels. Tour can be extended up to 7 days and like the 1 Day tour, I will drop you off anywhere you want at the end of tour.

What people are saying about Yasuko

Hannah

We had a wonderful trip with Yasuko as our guide. She is very experienced and planned a great trekking tour for us, adapting the route according to our wishes and fitness levels. While hiking, she explained a lot about flora and fauna and answered all our many questions (also regarding the Japanese language). At the huts and campsites, she even prepared breakfast and a delicious meal every evening. Thank you, Yasu, for this wonderful experience and the many things we've learned from you!

Yasuko was an excellent guide. We had an amazing time skiing powder on Mt Yotei

Alexander

Leading up to the initial climbing day in Otaru, there was a lot of flexibility in scheduling to ensure we could climb in good weather. On the originally planned day, it started pouring about an hour into the drive from Sapporo. Thankfully, our guide Yasuko quickly rescheduled to the following day, which turned out to be dry and perfect for climbing! The tour was amazing. We started with some light climbing as a warm-up, then moved on to a beautiful multi-pitch route with incredible views. Although the weather was very hot and humid, we managed to complete two more pitches before wrapping up. Yasuko is an incredibly skilled and experienced guide who knows exactly how to adapt the plan to suit your level and make the most of the day. From the hotel pickup in Sapporo to the climb itself, everything was smooth and well-organized. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience outdoor climbing in Hokkaido.

Yasuko provided a great skiing and learning experience. Being from Hokkaido, she was knowledgeable about the terrain and kept me safe. I am looking forward to skiing with her again.
