Enjoy a unique Himalaya Trek on the breathtaking and wild Kanchenjunga, the second highest peak in Nepal after Everest!
At 8586m (28,169 ft), Kanchenjunga is the second-highest mountain in Nepal and the third highest in the world. It lies in the far eastern part of Nepal, near the border with Sikkim, a tiny Himalayan state in the north-eastern side of India. Because the region is protected by the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, a special trekking permit is required. With these restrictions, the wonderful and unique local flora and fauna are still in pristine condition. Remote and rugged, Kanchenjunga is a peak for truly adventurous mountaineers that like a good challenge.
On this Kanchenjunga Circuit trek, we will visit the South and North Base Camp of Kanchenjunga. On the way, we will find landscapes full of waterfalls, rivers, green meadows, rhododendrons, orchids, lilies, primula, pine forests, birch and more. The area is also home to the Himalayan Black Bear, Assamese Macaque, Musk deer, Red Panda, Snow Panther, and others. Furthermore, we will also visit the stunning Yalung glacier. Additionally, we will have the chance to observe the local way of life and visit Ramtang and Oktang monasteries. Sherpa, Limbu, Rai, Tamang, and other ethnic groups will greet us with warm friendliness.
Because this is a remote area trekking, a good level of fitness and some trekking experience is required. The trek will take us through tough trails, dissipated settlements, and storm deluges. However, the majestic views and overall experience will greatly reward our efforts.
So, are you ready for an amazing Kanchenjunga trek? Then book your place now and join us on this exciting 26-day program! We will be happy to guide you!
Or, if you prefer, we also offer a shorter 13-day Gokyo Valley Trek!
