Description

Let me invite you to discover the wonderful hiking spot of Laguna Esmeralda. Located just 20 kilometers away from Ushuaia, Argentina, this stunning lagoon is a popular attraction for hikers for its breathtaking views and sparkling greens. Come with me and enjoy a wonderful day!

To reach Laguna Esmeralda, we will hike through a deep forest and bog land. Additionally, we will catch sight of the dazzling views of the Bonete and Toribio mountains. Also, we will discover incredible spots that have been eroded by glaciers over time. But once we reach the lagoon, the views will be even better. We’ll get to enjoy the outstanding turquoise color of the water. We might even see beavers working on their dams and interacting with the ecosystem.

This is an intermediate hike. We’ll cover 9.4 kilometers with an elevation difference of 160 meters in 5 hours. Of course,  I will be there to help and guide you.

Just press the green button and get ready for an unforgettable day in the beautiful Argentine South. I can guarantee you’ll love this place and will never forget it!

For more hiking trips in Argentina, be sure to check out the ones I offer to Laguna Torre or to Laguna de los Tres.

Mountain Guide

Mountaineering is part of my life since I was a child. I'm from Ushuaia and now I'm leaving in El Chalten, two of the most beautiful places in Patagonia for hiking, skiing, climbing and feeling the strong and pristine Patagonian nature.

I started guiding in 2014 and it has turned a way of leaving. I have worked in many areas of the Andes Range, from the low and sharp mountains in Ushuaia until the high mountain in the Real Range (Bolivia), and many trekking and mountains in North Patagonia Area (Bariloche) and Central Andes (Mendoza). Now in El Chalten I guide many beautiful trekking in the area. I guide the treks in Los Glaciares National Park under license of Zeta Trek.

I'm also an experimented climber and a certificated climbing monitor FASA (Argentinian Federation of Skiing and Andinism). And I'm studying Waldorf Pedagogy oriented to physical activity.

Please get in touch with me if you wish to be guided in South Patagonia this summer! or to organize a beautiful adventure in the Andes whenever you feel it's the moment to experiment something new.

Lilen was a fantastic guide for our group. She educated us during our trek on the native plants, wildlife, surrounding geology and mountain topography. Shared amazing stories of people she has met, additional day hiking options in the area, and attempted to help improve our Spanish vocabulary. She did this all while making sure the actual trek was safe, enjoyable and not too strenuous. At times it felt just like we were hiking with a friend that we had total trust in rather than a stranger leading us through a majestic 4 day trek through the Andes. In all we had a blast and loved the entire experience. Thanks Lilen.
