Description

Are you looking for a scenic hiking route in the Andes? Then this day-outing is for you. Let’s go to Manzano Historico, in Mendoza’s Valle de Uco, Argentina!

The “Manzano Histórico” Natural and Cultural Reserve, at 42kms from the city of Tunuyán, is a perfect destination for trekking adventures. It is in the eastern section of “Cordón del Portillo”, part of the Front Range of the Andes.

Famous for its fabulous landscapes and the water quality of its streams, Manzano Historico also has historic appeal as General San Martín passed through these lands when he returned from the Liberation of South America Campaign.

After a 2-hour drive from Mendoza, we will start our hike through the Andes mountains. It will take us about 5 hours to explore this picturesque area and reach the amazing Cajon de los Arenales, a beautiful and historical spot!

On our way back we can stop at a vineyard in Valle de Uco, the Argentinian wine mecca!

So, if you are up for a fabulous hiking trip in the Andes, please get in touch with me. You will be amazed by the scenic Manzano Historico in Valle de Uco!

Alpine Guide

I was born in Córdoba, Argentina, where I was able to venture into mountaineering more than ten years ago. I took my first steps in the Sierras de Córdoba, and from there, I set out to explore higher mountains.
Five years ago, I achieved my dreams when I came to Mendoza to become a professional mountain guide and earn a living doing what I love. Two years from now, we created our own adventure tourism company in Mendoza.
For the last 3 years, I have been working in a foundation, as an instructor in first aid and rescue in wild areas, training government agencies, guides, etc. I have made Advanced emergency medical technician in Buenos Aires, with real ambulance hours.

Join me in one of my programs and discover the Andes with me.

Our guide was Joaquin’s partner Vanina. She was excellent. The hike was incredibly picturesque and Vanina had a delicious picnic lunch prepared for us at the top. If you’re limited on time, but still want to fit in a hike - I would recommend this!
