The Matterhorn, also called Monte Cervino, lies on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Also, it is one of the most famous mountains in the world. This is probably due to its distinctive pyramidal shape and an interesting history.
Please note this is a challenging ascent, so you need to be in excellent shape. Also, you need a good amount of experience in the use of crampons and a good head for heights!
So contact me if you want to climb the mythical Matterhorn! I will give you more information and we can start planning this amazing ascent. It will be an unforgettable experience.
Meeting point
Meet your guide early in the morning in Chamonix for a full equipment check before heading across the border into Switzerland for a training climb on the Perrons ridge.
Starting from the Emosson Dam (1,965 m), this scenic traverse follows a spectacular ridge linking Aiguille du Vent (2,578 m) to Pointe de l’Ifala (2,651 m), continuing over Grand Perron (2,673 m) and Pointe Vouilloz (2,670 m).
Along the way, you’ll enjoy views over Lake Emosson and the Mont Blanc massif, with short climbing sections reaching up to grade 4.
This day serves as excellent preparation for the Matterhorn ascent. Return to Chamonix in the afternoon.
Transfer to Täsch, followed by a train ride to Zermatt. From there, ascend toward the Hörnlihütte (3,200 m), our base for the summit attempt.
Access is via cable car to Schwarzsee, followed by a hike up to the hut.
After settling in, enjoy dinner and rest early in preparation for the following day’s alpine start.
Accommodation: Mountain hut Meals: Dinner
An early start around 3:00 a.m. sets the tone for summit day. After breakfast, we depart the hut fully equipped and begin the ascent along the Hörnli ridge. Midway, we pass the Solvay Hut (approx. 4,000 m), an emergency shelter.
Higher up, snow conditions may require the use of crampons. Upon reaching the summit, we’ll take time for photos at the iconic cross before descending via the same route.
We’ll stop briefly at Hörnlihütte before continuing down to Schwarzsee and returning to Zermatt by cable car.
The day concludes with a well-deserved celebration in town.
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodation
Hörnlihütte A mountain refuge at 3,260 m on the Hörnli Ridge, right at the base of the Matterhorn. The hut provides shared dormitory rooms with bunk beds, basic amenities, and comfortable areas to relax and prepare for the summit day.
Each participant should be equipped with: technical ice axes, crampons compatible with mountaineering boots, a climbing helmet, harness, and belay equipment (including carabiners and rope), as well as a mountaineering backpack. Proper layered clothing is essential, including thermal base layers, insulating fleece, and a waterproof outer shell, along with thermal gloves, sunglasses or storm goggles, and rigid alpine boots.
Additionally, we recommend bringing a headlamp, a lightweight sleeping bag, and trekking poles to support the approach.

Brutal experience!
An incredible experience led by Nuria Picas, who was excellent in her sporting skills and also demonstrated great knowledge of Montblanc.
100% Recommended! A week-long experience with a group of 15 mountain enthusiasts, led by world-renowned expert Nuria Picas, who stands out not only for her professionalism and talent but also for her warmth and personal touch. She fostered a fantastic atmosphere within the group, making all participants feel included. This activity is highly recommended, both for exploring the Tour du Mont Blanc and for preparing for the UTMB race, as well as for disconnecting for a few days, meeting people with similar interests, and learning from others, which is always incredibly enriching. Special mention must be made of the warm and friendly service from the entire b4experience team, who ensured we had everything we needed so we could focus solely on running and enjoying each day.
The best experience of my life. Superbly organized, Núria Picas gets a 10/10, 100% recommended.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
