Description

If you are looking for a seriously special ski touring experience, this midnight sun ski touring week in the Lyngen Alps is an unbeatable one! Come along this tour as we experience ski touring under these precious natural conditions that the month of May brings to Norway.

First, we will fly from Zurich to Tromso. Then, we wil drive towards Olderdalen, where our chalet over the fjord is. A unique location.

From Day 2 to Day 6, I will guide on magnificent pristine slopes in the Lyngen Alps, as well as in the Kafjord Alps. Some of the main slopes, which have good snow conditions until June, are:

Sorbmegaisa 1288m
Svartfjellet 1162m
Nordmannviktinden 1355m
A super descent from the Blåtinden or Arnøya, with a view of the endless polar sea, in the Uloya island

The ultimate experience will be reaching one of these summits at midnight, under the bright in the sun.

On Day 7, we return to Trosmo to fly back home.

The terrain we cover on this tour includes wide slopes with easy skiing conditions. Only occasional slopes are steeper. The ascents take between 3 and 5 hours. Groups are between 2 and 6 guests.

You will only need normal ski touring equipment suitable for crampons and LVS.

Every day, Ulrica will prepare breakfast and dinner for us in the chalet. The price also includes the flight from Zurich to Tromso. Flights from Germany and Austria are also possible upon request.

This is a special price for bookings requested before January 14th, 2018. The price for later bookings is CHF 2280.- Finally, cancellation insurance is compulsory.

Mountain Guide

I became a professional mountain guide after discovering that mountains and wild nature meant the life to me. In 1983 I completed my studies and started an amazing journey. I have been constantly on the road ever since, up in the Alps and on mountains and trekking areas on every continent.

Before I started taking guests on tours, my wife Ulrica was my climbing partner. Together, we spent many autumns in the Klausenpass climbing walls. After our daughter Heidi was born, she started coming along on our tours around the world. Later, our son Thomas and daughter Christina would join us. Even later, our granddaugther Jana came into our lives. All three of our children have become mountaineers as well. I am proud to say that world-strolling is in their blood too.

Having led groups in the Alps and other parts of the world for a long time, I witnessed how the alpine mountain landscape changed over the years. When I started off, we had to cook in the huts for ourselves. We now see suites, whirpools and saunas. Technical difficulties up in the mountain are mitigated with chains and wire ropes - a new way to live the mountain in a time-saving manner. Climbing routes that were inaccessible before have now been made open for the general public.

My heart lives for having more and more original natural experiences. This is the kind of experiences that have made us addicted to the mountain. I continue to strive for taking my guests off the beaten and better-known tracks. This is my commitment to you. I hope you can join me soon!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
