Join me for a complete ski touring week in the stunning Sunmore Alps. Here we will find some of the most beautiful slopes in central Norway, right around the Hjørundfjorden fjord, south of Alesund.
Note: Check out my other 5 ski touring programs available in Norway below.
First, I will meet you to make our flight from Zurich to Alesund. Once there, we will drive towards Sæbø, in the Hjørundfjorden. We will then arrive to a traditional Norwegian "Hytter", our accommodation for this tour. Cabin 6 and Cabin 7 are reserved for us.
As from Day 2, I will guide you on different slopes around the versatile Sunmore Alps. We will choose the routes together. Some of the options are:
At the entrance of the fjord: Randers Topp (1,414m) and Sætretind (1,365m)
On the opposite side, crossing with the ferry: Blåbretinden (1,476m), Slogen (1,564m)
South of the fjord: Dukhornet (1,412m)
Over Sæbø: Grøtdalstind (1,331m), Skårasalen (1,542m)
On Day 8, we will return to Alesund to fly back home.
The terrain we will cover on this tour involves summits that don't require mountain equipment to reach them. All the ascents will be of up to between 900m and 1300m, and between 3 and 5 hours. Groups are between 2 and 6 guests.
The equipment you will need is normal ski touring equipment suitable for crampongs and LVS.
In the "hytter", Ulrica will prepare breakfast and dinner for us. The price also includes the Zurich-Alesund flight, return. Departures from German and Austrian airports are possible upon request.
Early bookings might also be eligible for business class plane tickets.

I became a professional mountain guide after discovering that mountains and wild nature meant the life to me. In 1983 I completed my studies and started an amazing journey. I have been constantly on the road ever since, up in the Alps and on mountains and trekking areas on every continent.
Before I started taking guests on tours, my wife Ulrica was my climbing partner. Together, we spent many autumns in the Klausenpass climbing walls. After our daughter Heidi was born, she started coming along on our tours around the world. Later, our son Thomas and daughter Christina would join us. Even later, our granddaugther Jana came into our lives. All three of our children have become mountaineers as well. I am proud to say that world-strolling is in their blood too.
Having led groups in the Alps and other parts of the world for a long time, I witnessed how the alpine mountain landscape changed over the years. When I started off, we had to cook in the huts for ourselves. We now see suites, whirpools and saunas. Technical difficulties up in the mountain are mitigated with chains and wire ropes - a new way to live the mountain in a time-saving manner. Climbing routes that were inaccessible before have now been made open for the general public.
My heart lives for having more and more original natural experiences. This is the kind of experiences that have made us addicted to the mountain. I continue to strive for taking my guests off the beaten and better-known tracks. This is my commitment to you. I hope you can join me soon!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
