For passionate skiers, Norway is a true paradise. It has incredible landscapes, deep blue fjords, and endless slopes. Join me for this ski touring week in the amazing Sogndal. I have been taking guests on this tour for several years now and it has since become a classic.
Note: Check out my other 5 ski touring programs available in Norway below.
First, we will fly from Zurich to Bergen. Once there, we will drive towards Sogndal in a rental car. To get there, we will go across the famous 24.5 km long Lærdal tunnel. In order to reach the fjord, we will take the car ferry. Once in the Gaupnefjord – one of the branches of the Sogndal – we will head towards our hut. This cozy mountain house includes a terrace with a sea view.
From Day 2 to Day 7, I will guide you on diverse ski routes around the Sogndal fjord, with great powder conditions in this time of the year. The main possible routes we will aim for include:
Svarteholten (1,140m)
Granipa (1,200m)
Togga (1,205m)
And in Jostedalen:
Grøndalseggi (1,423m)
Buskrednosi (1,505m)
Fivlenosi (1,466m)
Der Mannen (1,560m)
On Day 8 we return to Bergen by car, where the program ends.
The ski routes on this program are generally over wide slopes, with some steeper sections. The descents usually end in a perennial belt. Also, the ascents are usually between 3 and 5 hours. Groups are between 2 and 6 guests.
The equipment you will need for this program normal ski touring equipment, with LVS and a headlamp. Breakfast and dinner in the hut are included. Our cook will be, as usual, Ulrica.
The price includes flights from Zurich to Bergen. Departures from German and Austrian airports are also possible upon request. Early bookings might have access to business flight tickets (subject to availability)!
Note: cancellation insurance is compulsory.

I became a professional mountain guide after discovering that mountains and wild nature meant the life to me. In 1983 I completed my studies and started an amazing journey. I have been constantly on the road ever since, up in the Alps and on mountains and trekking areas on every continent.
Before I started taking guests on tours, my wife Ulrica was my climbing partner. Together, we spent many autumns in the Klausenpass climbing walls. After our daughter Heidi was born, she started coming along on our tours around the world. Later, our son Thomas and daughter Christina would join us. Even later, our granddaugther Jana came into our lives. All three of our children have become mountaineers as well. I am proud to say that world-strolling is in their blood too.
Having led groups in the Alps and other parts of the world for a long time, I witnessed how the alpine mountain landscape changed over the years. When I started off, we had to cook in the huts for ourselves. We now see suites, whirpools and saunas. Technical difficulties up in the mountain are mitigated with chains and wire ropes - a new way to live the mountain in a time-saving manner. Climbing routes that were inaccessible before have now been made open for the general public.
My heart lives for having more and more original natural experiences. This is the kind of experiences that have made us addicted to the mountain. I continue to strive for taking my guests off the beaten and better-known tracks. This is my commitment to you. I hope you can join me soon!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
