Join me in this week-long expedition to the mythical Mount Olympus. It’s the highest and most famous mountain in Greece. Besides, it has many peaks and gorges that we can explore together. In fact, if conditions allow it we will climb to the highest peak, Mytikas (2918m).

We will do a full traverse of the east side of this mythical mountain, enjoying the beautiful landscapes and the sea view.

But it is not only about hiking in this week. We will also have time to taste wines and delicious food. In addition, we will visit some traditional towns as Panteleimon and Dion. Besides, you will learn about the mythology.

The first 5 days we will be in a mountain and alpine environment, hiking and sleeping in mountain huts. Then we enjoy a couple of days in town, to see how nature combines with the beautiful and historic towns.

Note that the ascents take up to 6 hours and you need an average level of physical endurance.

Do you find this traverse of Mt Olympus interesting? Then please contact me for more information! I would love guiding you in this area.

About the guide

guide profile img

I was born in 1975 in Katerini, the town where I currently live.
I discovered the world of climbing and mountaineering when I was 15, and soon it became my passion. Over the years, I have specialised in mountaineering, ski mountaineering, rock climbing and ice climbing. I am a certified mountain guide (HMGA).
I have ascended hundreds of times Mount Olympus, Varasova, Meteora, Mount Gkiona, Mount Vardousia, Mount Pindos and others, both by the traditional and the modern routes.
But I also have a lot of experience abroad. I climbed many routes, both rock and ice/snow, in different areas including Mont Blanc, the Dolomites, Gran Paradiso and the Aosta Valley.
I also have a vast experience in ski mountaineering both in Greece and around Europe.
I am also a certified mountaineering and climbing instructor. I apply this by teaching in various Climbing and Mountaineering Associations.
During the winter, I also spend time as a ski instructor in my region, where there is a local academy.
