Multi-pitch rock climbing at Lover’s Leap, near Lake Tahoe

When it comes to amazing rock climbing spots, you really can’t do much better than Lover’s Leap.

Located near Lake Tahoe, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lover’s Leap is a paradise for rock climbers, especially those who enjoy multi-pitch routes. Most of the routes you can choose from range from 5.7 to 5.9. And while they may appear easy, some of them can be quite a challenge.

On the East Wall of Lover’s Leap, you can choose from the following routes.

• Pop Bottle – 5.7, 3 pitches

• East Corner – 5.10a or 5.11b, 3 pitches

• Haystack Crack – 5.8, 3 pitches

• Fantasia – 5.9, 5 pitches

• East Crack – 5.8, 3 pitches

• Bear’s Reach – 5.7, 3 pitches

• East Wall – 5.6 or 5.7/5.8 finish, 3 pitches

• The Line – 5.9, 3 pitches

If you would like to climb on the Main Wall/West Wall, you can choose from these excellent routes.

• Lover’s Chimney – 5.6, 4 pitches

• Book Mark – 5.8, 3 pitches

• Eagle Buttress – 5.10a, 6 pitches

• Traveler Buttress – 5.9, 5 pitches

• Corrugation Corner – 5.7, 5 pitches

• Hospital Corner – 5.10a, 2 pitches

Finally, for the Lower Buttress of Lover’s Leap, you can choose from the following routes.

• Surrealistic Pillar – 5.7, 3 pitches

• The Groove – 5.7/5.8, 2 pitches
