Bariloche is internationally known as one of the top trekking destinations in Argentina. With an almost fairytale-like landscape of mountains and lakes, Bariloche is truly an outdoor lover’s paradise. Hundreds of trails wind through the picturesque Nahuel Huapi National Park, many of them connected by European style mountain huts.
On this tour, we will trek along the trail between Colonia Suiza and Pampa Linda. This is perhaps the best long distance trek to do in Bariloche. With 5 mountain top lagoons and the dreamy, snow-covered peak of Mount Tronador (3491m) in the background, the scenery on this trek is hard to beat.
There is a lot to see and do on this tour, and we won’t waste any time getting started. On our first day, we will meet in Bariloche and travel 25 kilometers to Colonia Suiza. From Colonia Suiza, a Swiss settlement located on the shores of Lake Moreno, we will officially begin our trek.
A leisurely walk through the forest followed by a short but steep ascent will land us at our first destination: Laguna Negra. This glass-like lagoon is also home to the Laguna Negra Hut (1650m), sometimes referred to as “Manfredo Segre”. We will ease our way into mountain life, spending our first night inside the hut.
From Laguna Negra, we will make our way past the imposing Cerro Negro and onward to Laguna CAB. This mountain top lagoon is named after the Bariloche Alpine Club, or Club Andino Bariloche (CAB). We will camp beside this lagoon before continuing our journey the following day.
From Laguna CAB, we will trek onward to Mallin Mate Dulce and spend the night camping underneath the stars in this alpine meadow. The next day, we will traverse the edge of Cerro de Los Cristales and set up camp beside Laguna Creton.
Our tour of mountain top lagoons will continue the following day as we trek to Laguna Jujuy, and finally, Laguna Ilon. We will spend our final night camping at Laguna Ilon before descending to Pampa Linda the next morning. Tired and satisfied, we will travel back to Bariloche and reluctantly say our goodbyes.
You can find a day-by-day break down of this itinerary below. Please keep in mind that some details may change during the actual trip due to weather or other circumstances.

Mountain Guide - EPGAMT - Argentina
I was born in Patagonia, Argentina and formed at an early age as a climber in the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Currently I completed a large number of rock and ice climbing routes, backcountry skiing and ascents in many mountains around the world such as Mt. Lhotse (8.516 mts.), the 4th highest peak in the world, without using supplemental oxygen (May, 2012).
I'm a certified Mountain Guide from the EPGAMT and a member of the Argentinian Mountain Guides Association (AAGM) and work on Mt. Aconcagua, which I had repeatedly ascended, as well as in other peaks in the Central Andes, Patagonia, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and in The Himalayas in Nepal.
During the winter season, I practice backcountry skiing, mostly on the volcanoes in Patagonia, where I can offer you different adventures, according to your level (beginner, learner or advanced learner).
I feel very privileged to work as a mountain guide, to do the job that I love, and to be able to share it with people that have the same passion.
Join my expeditions and I will provide you a high standard of safety and personal attention!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
