FAQs

What is the average distance and altitude gain that we will hike each day?

We will hike approx 15 km with 700 m of altitude gain a day.

What experience do I need to have? How fit do I need to be? Is this program suitable for children or older people?

No prior experience is required, as the hike is an easy one. Note, that during one day we will gain approx 700 m of elevation, hence good fitness level is required. The program may be suitable for children and older people under the condition that they are able to make approx 15 km with 700 m of ascent and descent during one day.

How can I get to the trailhead/meeting point?

We meet at an agreed meeting point in Krakow and will be traveling to the trailhead via my private car.

How will accommodation and meals be handled during the trek?

We will have an overnight stay at the mountain hut, hence it will be possible to buy a meal. It is recommended though to have some extra calories (snacks) and water during the trip.

Are there any other special requirements such as permits/insurance/vaccines that I need to consider before the tour?

No, there are no special requirements for this trip.

What is the best time of the year for this hike?

The best time for this hike is starting from end-April till end-October.

Can I join a group?

No, I'm offering private hikes only.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

I will be offering an alternative route in Gorce mountains with an overnight stay at another, more easily accessible mountain hut. Other options are either to shorten a trip to one day or cancel it.

What equipment will I need?

In general, you will need a backpack, good hiking shoes, a first aid kit with your medicines, a warm clothing layer, sun protection, wind and rain protective clothes, a headtorch, and trekking poles. I will provide the detailed equipment list prior to the trip.
