Nevado de Toluca is an imposing stratovolcano just 80km away from Mexico City. It is an ideal spot for a 1 or 2-day getaway. You can either drive or take a bus to Toluca from Mexico City. If you're not driving, then once in Toluca you can either take a taxi to the volcano or take another bus towards Raíces that will drop you off at the base camp.
