Description

Ideal for a short getaway adventure, Nevado de Toluca (4680 m/15,354 ft) is one of the most stunning spots in Mexico. Follow us on this 1-day tour and discover this famous natural treasure!

Nevado de Toluca is in the State of Mexico, surrounded by the valleys of Toluca and Tenango. Due to its proximity to Mexico city, it’s one of the most popular climbing spots in the country. During weekends, a lot of climbers and nature lovers visit this volcano to reach its summit or just to explore its two beautiful lakes known as Laguna del Sol and Laguna de la Luna.

Our proposal is to ascend through the Cañada del Oso. This path will take us all the way to the top of the main summit known as Pico del Fraile. Once we reach the top, we’ll enjoy the panoramic views of this crater’s two beautiful lagoons. On our way back, we can descend through the same path; walk towards the two lagoons or choose an even more challenging route and head towards the other peak known as Pico del Aguila, located just 59 m (180 ft) lower. Please keep in mind that all participants, no matter what route they decide to explore, need to be physically fit.

Does this 1-day expedition in Mexico sounds tempting? Then send a request to book this trip and let’s go for it. It will be our pleasure to show you the unique Nevado de Toluca.

The trip was amazing. Everything was perfectly organized and the involved guides (Alejandro & Chris), drivers and cooks (Pati) as well as organizers from 3Summits Adventure (Karla & Alvaro) were all superb and very friendly. All people involved put a high priority on safety and reliability which for me is very important. Special shoutout also to Maca from Explore-Share who did an amazing job in assisting me in booking.

The guides with 3 Summits were incredible! The company was super communicative and answered all my questions ahead of the climbs. I did the trip solo and the guides were fun and kind and I truly felt like I was climbing with experts.

Amazing experience! I had such an incredible time on the mountain. My guide Abraham, Ahmed and the 3Summits Staff, especially Karla whom I was in contact with the entire duration, were all phenomenal. I recommend them 100% for anyone looking to climb Pico de Orizaba. Abraham is very experienced, knowledgeable and kind. It was a wonderful climbing with him. It has been awhile since I have climbed due to injury, and he definitely helped me get my confidence back. You can tell he truly likes what he does, and that is very important in the mountains. Highly recommend him as a guide!!! Ahmed was also a joy. He was so helpful throughout the trip, and helped with logistics, food, and setting up. Very positive person! And Karla was amazing, and always on top of everything. Very nice, and quick to respond. I can't wait to go back someday. That mountain is great for training, and a fun peak in itself. I highly recommend hiring a private tour, like I did, if you have any injuries or want to go at your own pace. It's well worth it. But, 3Summits does have a 1:2 ratio, which is better than a lot of other guiding services out there, should you choose to go in a group. I am very impressed with 3Summits and will use them again. Thank you! :)
