The state of Puebla has some of the most attractive mountains for athletes: Pico de Orizaba, Popocatépetl, Iztaccíhuatl and La Malinche are natural protected areas where mountaineering is on top. Some are more technical and challenging than others, but in all cases it is essential to go with a certified local guide.
The climate is mild and somewhat humid, although with little rainfall because the high mountains in the east prevent the arrival of clouds coming from the Gulf of Mexico.
Spanish, although due to its proximity to USA, English is also spoken.

You can get Puebla by car, bus and taxi from Mexico City, located about 130 km. Although Puebla also has an airport, there are no air connections with Mexico City because of its proximity.
