Description

The third highest peak in Mexico, Iztaccihuatl (5,230m) is a gorgeous peak with a rich, amazing story behind it, a story that dates back centuries, back to the times of the Aztecs. And, on this 2-day trip, we would like to guide you to the summit of the beautiful volcano.

Our journey to the top of Iztaccihuatl will begin in Mexico City. After leaving the sprawling metropolis, we will make our way to the Paso de Cortes. From there, we will go to the Altzomoni Hut. From the hut, we will take a hike to the mountain’s first pass for the purpose of getting you properly acclimatized. Afterwards, we will return to the hut, where you can enjoy a tasty meal and get some sleep.

On the following day, we will wake up very early and start making our ascent at 2:00 am. We should arrive at the summit of the peak at midday. From the top of the Iztaccihuatl, you will get to enjoy amazing views of the landscape, as well as the peak’s twin, Popocatepetl (5,426m), which has an equally amazing story that also dates back to Aztec times. After you’ve taken in the wonder from the summit, we will make our way back down to the hut, where we will catch our transport back to Mexico City.

Participants on this trip should be in good physical condition. Prior climbing experience is also recommended.

It was awesome one of the best experiences so far. The guide was amazing. I had a great time, even though it was exhausting. The only negative thing was that the rental of the few things i needed was a bit expensive.
