Join Jacopo, an IFMGA-certified mountain guide, for this scenic and exciting 2-day mountaineering ascent of Barre des Écrins. Combine rock and ice climbing to conquer the southernmost 4,000+ meter peak in the Alps and enjoy incredible views along the way.
Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep
Towering up 4,102 meters above sea level, Barre des Écrins is the highest peak on the Écrins massif and the Dauphiné Alps!
Heading up to the vaunted peak's summit is the perfect challenge for intermediate-level mountaineers with some previous experience on mixed terrain around or above 4,000 meters.
The adventure begins after we go over our itinerary and check out our gear in the the parking lot of Pre de Mme Carle. From here, we will hike for five hours until we reach the Écrins refuge.
Getting a pre-dawn start on the following morning, we will leave our cozy mountain hut and begin climbing over rock and ice until we reach a nice rock ridge, which we will follow on to the summit.
From the top, we will enjoy incredible views out over the rest of the massif as well as out toward La Meije and the rest of the Dauphiné Alps.
After we've had our fill of the summit, we will climb back down and hike out to the car park.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this exciting and scenic 2-day mountaineering ascent of Barre des Écrins!

Born in 1983, grown in Brusson, I ran for the Aosta Valley regional team of Biathlon until the age of 19.
In 2002 I left home to continue my studies in France and later in Belgium, during this time I was offered for a job in Milan.
This way started a journey inside television channels and post-production companies, where I get skilled and specialize in 2D and 3D animation, editing and compositing.
2010 is the year of change: sick of the hectic life and the work system of big companies, I take the decision to come back to Aosta Valley. During that time I also started to approach asana practice and a personal study in Vedantic Philosophy. My personal challenge was to turn my passion for the sports and the mountains into a new job and I started to realize this life plan. In 2016 I achieve the title of Aspirant Mountain Guide and in 2019 I can finally fulfill my dream, becoming an IFMGA Mountain Guide and qualified Yoga teacher in the really traditional Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham, Kadaleevanam, Kodakkad Village in the South of India.

We had a mountaineering trip with Jacopo on the Monte Rosa Massif. It was a great! Our guide is very knowledgeable and we learnt so much from him. He is also quite responsible and trustable, he made everything well-organized and plan the trip according to the weather condition. We will definitely rate this a 5-star trip with Peakshunter mountain guides.
