Description

While the Aiguille Croux is a wonderful peak to look at on its own, its the peak’s location that makes it truly special. Resting at the south side of Mont Blanc (4,818m), the Aiguille Croux’s unique position allows it to bathe in sunlight all day. Thus making its ascent an even more glorious experience.

The walls of the mountain are steep, so the climb can easily be considered an athletic one. However, the reward during, and at the completion of the ascent, are some truly spectacular views. Some of the highlights you will get to see include the Freney and Brouillard glaciers.

This trip will be split into 2 days. The first day will see us venturing from Val Veny to the Monzino hut, where we will spend the night. During the first day’s trek, we will take the Ottoz-Croux route. It is an easy, and incredibly scenic path. The following day, we will leave from the Monzino hut, and switch to climbing mode, as we reach the base of the Aiguille Croux. Once there, we will scale the 400 metre wall. This section of the trek will pose some difficulties, so you should have previous experience and be physically fit. After the climb, drenched in sunlight, you will get to stand atop the summit and admire the Alps, before abseiling back down the mountain’s base.

Blessed with all day sunlight, the Aiguille Croux is a wonderful ascent, and over the course of 2 days, you will get to enjoy every minute. Please send me a request, and let me guide you.

We did a 1 day Ferrata with Marica. We've both never climbed a Ferrata before but we are both good hikers. We enjoyed our trip very much and you don't need to be a climber. Marica took good care of us and she is very informative with the local geography and history. We felt very safe with her. If you are traveling near the Dolomite and want to try something a bit out of your comfort zone, I highly recommend doing a ferrata especially with Marica. We did both ferrata ra gusela nuvolau and ferrata-averau. It took us about 6 hours.
