The Allalinhorn is one of the most accessible 4,000-meter peaks in the Alps and a fantastic objective for climbers looking to experience high-altitude mountaineering in Switzerland. Rising above Saas-Fee, in the Pennine Alps near Zermatt, this elegant summit offers an ideal introduction to glacier travel, crampon use, and the unique feeling of standing on a major Alpine peak.
This one-day ascent begins in Saas-Fee, where we meet before taking the first cable car to Felskinn and continuing to Mittelallalin via the Metro Alpin. From there, we put on our harnesses, crampons, and rope, then begin our steady climb across the glacier toward the summit.
The route is progressive and well suited to participants who are new to high mountains but have good fitness and motivation. Along the way, Pere will guide you through the essential techniques needed to move safely on glaciated terrain, making this a rewarding first 4,000-meter ascent.
The Allalinhorn can be climbed by different routes and even as part of longer programs. The nearby Alphubel is another 4,000-meter summit that can be climbed in one day from the same lift system, with a maximum of 2 participants.
Ready to climb your first 4,000-meter peak in the Alps? Send a request and join IFMGA guide Pere for a memorable ascent of the Allalinhorn above Saas-Fee.

Pera was great at communicating with me prior and during our climbing day. He chose the perfect location for the climbing goals and weather conditions and made sure I was always safe. I would definitely choose to climb with him again in the Swiss Alps or anywhere else!

Pere showed us the most amazing experience. It was my first time climbing outdoors, and first time climbing multi pitch. Pere was calm and super knowledgeable. He put us on a great route and gave us an experience that I truly will never forget. Thank you Pere!
A great day traversing the Drus from the Charpoua hut. No one on the route that day except us. The weather proved excellent. Perfect guiding and very secure climbing with Pere !
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
