Join a certified mountain guide and take on the challenge as you ski across the exceptional snow-covered terrain on this steep descent from the summit.

Get ready for an exciting start to our adventure as we hit the road early in the morning from El Chalten and embark on our 37 km journey towards Lake del Desierto.

Then, we'll embark on an approach hike towards the Huemul Glacier, navigating through the enchanting Lenga forest. The trail leads us to a breathtaking glacial lagoon. Once we take in the view, we'll continue until we finally reach the pristine snow. From here, we'll strap on our touring skis and continue our journey towards the summit!

Mountain Guide

My name is Martin and people call me “Jimmy”. I live in the Chaltén where I work as a mountain guide. In Patagonia, I ascended the west face of Cerro Torre, “vía Ragnni di Lecco”; the Fitz Roy and the Poincenot needle. I have also climbed high mountains in the north of Argentina and Peru.
I have been a trekking guide since 2001 and UIAGM mountain guide since 2008. My wife is mountain guide too, and we organise together expeditions and traverses of the Southern Patagonian Icefield.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
