Cap Canaille advanced rock climbing day tours

Cap Canaille is an agglomeration of rocks situated between the towns Cassis and La Ciotat, in Southern France. With an elevation of 394 meters, this is the highest cliff in the country and offers a vast terrain for climbing adventures. In this tour I want to guide advanced rock climbers to the best secrets of this amazing area.

Since 2012 Cap Canaille is part of the Calanques National Park, one of the most beautiful massifs among all rock climbing spots in France. The contrast between the ocher color of the cliffs and the blue of the Mediterranean Sea gives this place a unique beauty.

The area offers around 25 traditional and sport routes to climb. Let’s go directly to those that offer a real challenge for advanced rock climbers.

One of my favourites routes is “2 Vauriens 3 Canailles”, a challenging multi-pitch line over a beautiful cliff, with impressive caves and a magical atmosphere. In “Mathusalem” we can experience some vertical chimney and spiral climbing. Finally, “Bienvenue chez Damoclès” is a physical and fun route with all the different types of rock in the area.
