2 days to climb Grand Combin, an awesome peak of the Valais, together with Yann, an IFMGA-certified guide.
Grand Combin is the only summit of more than 4000 m between the Grandes Jorasses and the Dent-Blanche, which we can also climb. This is an iconic mountain of Bagnes Valley, which dominates all other peaks for miles around.
Grand Combin offers an exceptional flora and fauna, a wild atmosphere ideal for nature lovers and a genuine hospitality during the trip.
It’s less known than some four-thousanders in the Valais, and wrongly, mountaineers are less interested in it!
It’s a mistake, because the edge of Meitin offers a good and varied itinerary between snow, rock and ice. Discover this wild climb, away from the crowds!
The ascent takes about two days.
I invite you to contact me if this adventure sounds interesting to you. I’d be glad to lead you there!
Valsorey hut. In the Valais Alps at the foot of the Grand Combin and facing Mont Blanc, alpinists, skiers and hikers find in the Valsorey hut a grand adventure playground. An exceptional flora and fauna. A wild atmosphere ideal for families loving nature. A mountain and genuine hospitality. Simple and tasty meals…
Alternative route With good conditions and good fitness, it is possible to consider the crossing of the Grand Combin. Starting from Valsorey, ascent by the edge of Meitin or by the south side at the top. Then descent through the Aiguille du Croissant and Combin of Tsessette. Finally, we'll arrive to the Mauvoisin dam.
Ascent to the Valsorey hut from Bourg-St-Pierre. It takes about 3-4hs walking.
Early morning and departure at headlamp light to the edge of Meitin, arrival to the Grand Combin summit at 4314m, and descent by the edge of Meitin or by the South face. Once back at the hut, and after a short break, it will be time to meet the plain by the path taken the previous day to climb to the hut.
Attracted by the mountains since childhood, I started with climbing and alpinism. I then discovered my passion for ski touring.
I started a Young&Sport instructor training to lead young people in the mountain, accompanied by guides. This experience inspired me to become a mountain guide, and I got certified in September 2015.
I work in a guide's office with other guides friends as Stéphane, Raphael, Christian and Jean-Luc, mountain leader.
What I love the most: make people enjoy, allow them to discover a region, laughing, everything in a safe way.
So if there's something you wish, if you dream of exploring a region or country, don't hesitate to contact me.
See you soon for new discoveries!
Yann was a fantastic guide for the last 3 days in Verbier. He was flexible and really listened to what we wanted, which was fun and adventure but not too hard core. Our teenage children enjoyed the experience very much. We covered most of the resort and enjoyed some off-piste touring as well and we felt safe and informed the entire time.
Yann is a Young, Energetic and Experienced mountain guide. We have been Touring for 4 days in the Jungfrau Region with very mixed weather conditions. Yann showed me his abilities to lead under very tough weather conditions. Although always looking for Adventure and Challenges, even under the tough weather conditions, he proved his experienced as a guide and knowledge of the region. Safety is always first and from there we strive for our limits. We had an amazing 4-days and future adventures with Yann have already been discussed! Definitely the guide i want to rely on high up the mountains!
We discovered a great and safe touring trip at back Montfort via a small ascent on the “Mont Calme” with our guide Yann. We had great powder and great fun and felt very safe thanks to the experience of our guide Yann. Do not hesitate to hire him!
Just back from an amazing powder skiing day with Yann in the Valais. Loads of nice turns in the powder in a breathtaking landscape. Full of energy, Yann is very professional & safe and at the same time relaxed & fun. We had a great time!
Once again it was a great experience and I was so happy to do it with Yann. It was only myself this time and we did a 3-day tour, came back on Saturday evening completely exhausted (which is a good sign!). This time he really challenged me and that\'s also what i was looking for. the first 4000m peak was climbed and it definitely taste to much more! The area is so impressive and spectacular!
2 jours fantastiques, avec un guide qui ressent bien jusqu\'ou il peut pousser ses clients, qui explique beaucoup sur les techniques et la lecture du terrain (un grand plus!), et qui de plus est très sympa. A refaire chaque année! Bruno, Renaud et Mathieu
I often ski with Stephane. He is a very nice guide with a very good knowledge about security. He is always looking for the best spots which will combine excellent snow and safe conditions. He is very communicative and friendly.
J\'ai la chance de skier chaque année avec Steph depuis qu\'il est guide. Il trouve toujours d\'excellents plans ski et rando en valais ou ailleurs. Steph est ultra professionnel et le fait qu\'il soit sauveteur est certainement un plus!
