I offer this awesome guided ascent through the normal route starting from La Dent Blanche mountain hut. The climb is very interesting and diversified. I particularly enjoy it because…
- We are surrounded by breathtaking mountains of 4000 meters high during 2 days;
- There is some aesthetic rock climbing of high altitude during the climb;
- We are roped as soon as we leave the hut;
- La Dent Blanche mountain hut which lies at 3507m is very picturesque.
La Dent Blanche (4357m) is a perfect pyramid of gneiss which offers 4 beautiful ridges, at the 4 points of the compass. It is full part of the imperial crown and it is the symbol of the Val d’Hérens.
It is a AD (assez difficile / pretty difficult) ascent. It requires a good acclimatisation and a good fitness level. You must have experience in walking with crampons and have done some climbing before. If it’s the first time you come with me or another guide of our team, we should go on a guided climb before so that I can test you and see if you have the level of climbing La Dent Blanche.
I will take one person with me on the rope. I you come with other climbers, I will ask other IFMGA mountain guides from our team to join us.
The best period to climb La Dente Blanche is from early July till mid of September.
Here is the program of the 2-day ascent.
We will have 5 to 6 hours hiking from Ferpècle to La Dent Blanche mountain hut (3507m).
We will wake up early, around 4am, and start walking up to reach Wanfluelücke and the south ridge leading us to the summit. The way up should take us 4 to 5 hours, the way down will take us the same time.
Feel free to get in touch with me of you are interested in climbing La Dent Blanche or any of the other mythical peaks around, Matterhorn for example. I will be my great pleasure to guide you up there and share with you my passion about the mountains and this awesome valley of Val d’Hérens.
