Climbing La Dent Blanche, Pennine Alps

Emblematic of the Alps, the great 4000 meters have attracted many travellers. They are often a true dream for alpinists. In particular, the Dent Blanche (4323 m) is one of my favourites. The pride of Val d’Hérens… A monument deep in the valley!

Even today, the 4000 meters allow us to experience a true mountain adventure. I propose to spend a night in a cabane before climbing roped the most difficult steps taking us to the summit.

The altitude implies a lack of oxygen. Besides, there are technical and physical difficulties in this journey. Therefore you need to have a good physical preparation to enjoy these ascents.

There are different possible routes to climb the Dent Blanche:
– by the Southern edge, one of the most beautiful normal ways;
– by the direct North edge (André Georges way), very difficult. There is a large course on a very good rock in the “Nez” part, vertical cliff of 300 m in an excellent rock leading to more than 4000 m.
– by the 4 Anes edge, difficult. Wild and engaged…
