Description

Looking for a gentle hike through some beautiful Patagonian landscape? I have just what you are looking for.

Our experience will start at the Hostería El Pilar and follow a relaxed trail alongside the mountains. Of all the hikes in the area, this is the least physically demanding. If you are new to hiking then this will be perfect for you.

However, we will still be covering around 13 km of terrain. This is just a stroll in the park. You’ll need to be prepared with hiking boots and suitable clothing.

This adventure will take around 6 hours in total. On the way, we’ll get to enjoy awesome views of some of the best spots in the area, like the Piedras Blancas glacier, the Fitz Roy cordon, and the Laguna Capri. You’ll want to have your camera handy!

We’ll follow the trail all the way to El Chaltén where we will say our goodbyes.

This an excellent way to see the sights of El Chaltén in one day on a relaxed hike. Get in touch today to book your space.

If you are looking for something more strenuous, why not take a look at my one- day hiking trip to Laguna de Los Tres.

About the guide

I moved to El Calafate in 2001 and very soon I started practicing mountain activities, including rock climbing, skiing, hiking and trekking. In 2007, I began to work in the mountains as an assistant guide in Perito Moreno.

I finished my trekking guide course in 2011 and then, in 2015, I completed the following course to become a Mountain Guide.

I manage Zetatrek, a guiding company offering hiking and trekking trips in El Chaltén and Los Glaciares National Park. I work together with a group of guides, so if I'm not available to guide you, one of my colleagues will do it. All the guides in the team are professionally certified, and hold the required permits to guide.

Juan and the guide he assigned to hike with us, Rodrigo, were fantastic. Rodrigo was patient, knowledgeable, and a total blast to hike with. The hike itself was one of the toughest but most unforgettable experiences of our lives. Would absolutely recommend.
