Guided Climb of Combin de Corbassière

A 2-day guided ascent of Combin de Corbassière (3716m), above the massive glacier of Panossière and within a stunning environment, together with Maxime, local IFMGA Mountain guide.

Alps

2 Days

Jun - Sep

Description

The Combins Mountain Range in the Valais has some similarities with the Himalayas. The massive seracs of the north face of Le Grand Combin and the large glacier of Corbassière provide an unique feeling of high altitude environment and mountaineering expeditions.

I particularly like the ascent of Combin de Corbassière (3716m) because:

  • it’s accessible and not too technical

  • the views are incredible

  • of its variety : glacier walk and rocky passes

The climb starts at La Cabane de Panossière from where we will walk up the glacier of Corbassière to reach the bottom of the south ridge of Le Combin de Corbassière. This part is not really technical and difficult but we must not underestimate the walking distance.

The rocky part is easy and you’ll have the time to enjoy the view on the impressive glaciers surrounding us.

From the summit you’ll have the chance to watch the breathtaking view on Le Grand Combin which is a more technical climb. Many mountaineers wish to ascend it. We can then go back through the Corbassière glacier and reach the refuge where we will enjoy a good beer to celebrate the amazing adventure !

Feel free to get in touch with me if you wish to go there with me, climbing Combin de Corbassière or any other peaks in the Valais where I’m from. It will be my pleasure to guide you up there and share with you my passion about the mountain and its environment.

Mountain Guide

From the beautiful Valais summits to Greenland, I have learned to know and respect the mountain. This passion, which took more and more importance in my life, has become my profession. In addition to my physical geography studies at the Lausanne University, in 2007 I started the course as an aspiring guide. I obtained my mountain guide certificate in 2009.
