1-day historic Rene de Pol via ferrata in the Dolomites

On this program, I invite you to discover the Renè de Pol via ferrata, in the Italian region of Veneto. This trail with metal cables and stairs goes across the north and northwestern side of the Forame mountain range. As a historical point of interest, this via ferrata is famous for being one of the Austrian locations in World War I.

Renè de Pol via ferrata will lead us through an ascent to the Punta Ovest del Forame, at 2,385 meters above sea level, and then to the Forame di Fuori (2,413 meters).Classic Dolomite landscapes full of rocky massifs, mountain valleys and woods will surround us the whole trip. Furthermore, we’ll also observe some of the instruments and devices used in the First World War.

Although this via ferrata is not too demanding, we may find some obstacles and steep sections on the way that will require a very good level of fitness. Please, consider that the program has a duration of around 6 hours and we’ll face a total elevation gain of around 2,000 meters.
