These Mount Yotei splitboarding tours in Hokkaido will take you exploring one of Japan’s best-kept secret powder slopes!
Mount Yotei (1898m) is an inactive volcano located in Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan. It has a very similar shape as the famous Mount Fuji, but it’s less crowded, so its slopes have much more powder to enjoy! Plus it has the longest backcountry runs on the island.
The way up to the summit usually takes between 5 and 8 hours. The effort is totally worthwhile because an incredible 700 m wide crater is waiting for you to enjoy its view, and the scenery all the way is amazing.
Plus the best is yet to come! Beautiful slopes with deep gullies and the best powder in the world lie right in front of you. The way down will definitely be a memorable ride!
Finally, after a long snowboard or ski day, you’ll relax in a traditional Japanese Onsen (hot spring) and try the delicious local cuisine.
We can do this for as many days as you want. I guarantee that once you experience this adventure, you ‘ll want to keep on doing it forever!
So send me a request to book this Mount Yotei splitboarding tour in Hokkaido and let’s start planning your next holiday together.

More info Equipment: renting ski equipment in Japan is not easy but I can try to do it for you. I will need you to give me the model and the size of the DYNASTAR boots that fit your feet. Weather conditions need to be ideal for this splitboarding trip to work, as visibility, wind and avalanche conditions are all major factors which may prevent us from being able to reach the top of the volcano. The conditions can change very quickly, I may be obliged to turn back to ensure everyone coming back home safely, this is part of the game. |
