Join me for an incredible adventure around Rock Creek Ski Hut. Located in Eastern Sierra Nevada, 30 minutes away from Mammoth Mountain, it is the highest hut in California at 3,108 meters. The views and the skiing options are one-of-a-kind. You’ll fall in love with this place.

For this trip, we’ll need to cross-country ski 5 miles (around 8 km) to reach the best terrains for ski touring. Some of the nearby tracks include the East Gullies of Mt. Starr, “The Shoulder”, Mt. Dade, Mt. Abbott, Treasure Peak, and, weather permitting, Cat Ears Couloir, the Hourglass Couloir, and the Northeast Couloir. There are options for a 2 or a 3-day trip.

One of the best parts of the Rock Creek Ski Hut is that, due to its high altitude, the snow tends to hold better and for longer. This lodge can only host a group of six, ensuring privacy and a cozy atmosphere with your friends and family. It also offers the basic amenities for a rustic adventure.

This trip is recommended for intermediate to advanced skiers or snowboarders. A good fitness condition and prior experience in all kind of snow is mandatory.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome.
